Paul's Asian Affair

We came here for dinner with our family on Tuesday night. The food, the customer service and the atmosphere was very enjoyable. The lovely lady (who I think may be the owner or manager) made my daughter her favourite drink for her birthday. We had a lovely night. The 2 ladies that looked after us were fantastic! The customer service was exceptional. Thank You

Chicken wing was over cooked and seasoning, meat was dry. Fish cake is average but it’s commercial product not home made , curry puff not much filling . All the entree serve with sweet chili sauce , who would serve curry puff with sweet chili sauce ? The main , twice cooked-pork belly was just average with no wok favor, stir fry veg is not cook specially the broccoli and mushroom 🤮， Malay curry was blank and flat, lamb cutlets is way way over seasoning , too salt and over cook , very pricey … for Asian cuisine. Can’t compare with couple of years ago when Paul was still in the shop , soz to see its level go down like this and won’t be back .

Sooo - the reason for the two ** isn't about the food - the food was great and pretty generous serves. But I have a big BUT - the website prices are/were at $1.50-$2.00 less per dish than the takeaway menu at the restaurant - we got two entrees and two mains and it cost nearly $100 - according to the website it should have cost us about $88. On top of that a 1.5% card surcharge was calculated manually and added to the bill. I do think the albeit good food was expensive, but I'm more concerned about the lack of transparency in the billing - I suggested they take the website down until they could make sure their advertised prices were correct - I haven't been back on their site to check because I won't spend the considerable $$ at a place that I feel is being at best disingenuous, at worst dishonest, about their prices . . .

Have been to Paul's in the past a couple of times. Was lovely then. Went there Saturday ngt for the first time in a few yrs. Sadly have to say..didn't enjoy at all. Was extremely noisy..but u get that in restaurants sometimes. Food was a huge disappointment. Prawn toast very ordinary...dry n no flavour. The beef dish n sweet n sour pork dish weren't good. At all. Not much favour. N big pieces of meat. Too big to eat comfortably, n in both cases..the beef was grissly chewy n the big pork chunks were tough n chewy. That sort of thing makes eating a Chinese meal very unpleasant. Can't remember the last time we had dishes we didn't want to eat after a couple of mouthfuls. To top things off..we were sadly ripped off. Just not sure how it could have happened. We usually get the acc to the table but this time my husband went to pay it as I gathered my things. When in the car he stated that was a lot of $ for terrible food. $165.00 I was amazed. Had I gone up with him I wouldve known that something wasn't right. N questioned it. We ordered the same amt of things we always do at Chinese restaurants..in fact ..1 thing less this time..no soup..n always pay around $120-130 When we added io from a menu the next day..it came to $130. As it should've been. Very annoyed n unhappy about the whole experience sadly. Won't b back again.

This is a nice restaurant with large wine selection. The staff were quite friendly and service was fast. However there was no flavour in the chow mein, and it was terribly overpriced along with the rice. The dumplings weren't anything special, and again, ridiculously expensive. I feel this would be a great restaurant if the prices simply matched the quality of the food.

Food was delicious good selection of bevvies, but ordeing dumplings as a quick starter for my son was abit of an issue. Considering there were only 2 other people in the restuaurant at the time & asking where they were several times it still took over 20 minutes to deliver to table. I then had the same problem with my 6 scollops on the shell reaching me before the mains, i again had to ask where they were and end up getting to the table 5 minutes later. Overall the food was great and up to par with what i had heard but the wait staff need to be more on the ball if you are charging big money for the whole experience.
